I stopped what I was doing and my girlfriend and I got into the car and picked him up. It was about a 25-minute drive outside Baltimore City, and I realized that I had gotten worse and more apprehensive at driving after not driving for the past two months.

Quickly, we realized that it was going to be a challenge — our friend had gotten into an accident on a major highway with a 65 mile-per-hour speed limit. I merged onto the highway and was finally about half a mile away from where my friend was. Only a tenth of a mile separated myself and where the navigation app said my friend was, and I started slowing down.
